Thanks for the Name.

In John Steinbeck’s historical fiction novel, Of Mice and Men, we meet Curley’s wife; someone to look at. “Wait till you see Curley’s wife.” Some people may think. A person with bestowed power, but is that power alone enough? Though, she comes off as nothing more than a whore, she is longing to fulfill her dream of becoming someone bigger than she is.
Curley’s wife feels stuck where she is-unhappy, and although her life is simple, she has no worries. She would like to move onto bigger-and-better things. She met a man from Hollywood who was going to write her but she “Never got that letter”. She would like to go to Hollywood and “[be] in the movies and [have] nice clothes.” Dressing up, doing her makeup, and accentuating her body is her way of getting the attention she would, if she were to be famous. She seeks men for this attention because she knows from them, she will most likely get it.
To others Curley’s wife is exactly that. Curley’s  wife. She doesn’t show a lot of moral value, so therefore she’s not such a value to anyone.  Sure she’s on a pedestool for being Curley’s wife, but referring back to the movie, was there a lot of emotion coming from Curley when she died? Not quite. To him, she was a dime piece to today’s society.
“Do you know what I could to you?” She knows the power she has, and she uses it to her ability. She attacks the people she knows she can belittle; they are incapable of sticking up for themselves for they know that if it came down to their word or hers, she would win undoubtedly. “Yeah, I just tend the horses” crooks being an easy target, because he’s black.  Lennie is also in the line of fire, mainly because most people know he’s slow.
Conclusively, her dream is evident throughout the story. She is unhappy with her life as is. She needs more going for her.

Maybe she just wants a name  :p

THE RUSH

Cool crisp water, sparkling white tips the water creates as it rushes off the random stairs. In the summer, wakeboarading and skiing on the glass like water, basking in the sun and coming home to show mom and dad your cherry colored skin. walking on the sharp like rocks coated with sand by the river; the sandbar. In the spring the water rises to record breaking heights for our little town. News teams coming to the park to report the murky, high water. in the winter, seeing it film over from the cold. Not quite freezing but just glazed over, breaking like glass going over the stairs. Cool crisp water.

were they innocent, or guilty?

How did Osama Bin Laden prepare his men to attack the Twin Towers?  Osama had some odd procedures for his men to follow before they set themselves out to kill themselves, along with a bunch of other innocent people.  But were these people completely guilty? Osama basically, brainwashed them into believing that if they wouldn’t sacrifice themselves, that they weren’t giving their whole self to God. They believe you can give yourself to God by reading the Holy Quran all hours of the day. But nevertheless, sacrificing yourself is the ultimate offering to God.

I am Poem

I am athletic, the teenage girl cliché.
I wonder about my future
I hear Nicki Minaj
I see smiles
I want to be volleyball state champs
I am athletic, smart

I pretend to like school
I feel everyone is different
I touch the closest to being real, with god.
I worry drama conquers the earth
I cry at death of loved ones
I am athletic, the teenage girl cliché

I understand everything is possible
I say all that matters now, wont in 10 years. Hakuna matata (:
I dream at being successful
I try to understand everyone and anyone
I hope one day, I’ll have NO worries.
I am athletic, the teenage girl cliché

Ever find a song that fits a situation perfectly?

Recently, I lost a friend of mine, Brylee Verser. A lot of people knew her; I played softball with her for a year. She committed suicide about 2 weeks ago.

The song I chose was “why” by Rascall Flatts. This song talks about a person committing suicide, which is obviously one way the song connects to Brylee, but also, the chorus says “Oh, why? That's what I keep askin'
Was there anything I could have said or done?
Oh, I had no clue you were masking
A troubled soul, God only knows what went wrong
And why you'd leave the stage in the middle of a song.” Nobody close to Brylee really expected her to do anything like that. So I see the connection when it talks about masking a troubled soul.

I think this song fits so well because; it literally hits all the key points of the situation. It talks about the girl playing softball in the song and rounding 3rd base to score the winning run, which Brylee’s favorite sport was softball; she was a pitcher. It talks about her little small town, and early autumn being the time. There’s always a song to fit every situation.

Alexander Mcqueen's death

Suicidal freak; a cliché?
            High fashion designer commits suicide.

Alexander McQueen went from one of the best designers, with props in over 40 countries to mournful and suicidal after his mother’s death.

Alexander McQueen was known worldwide for his fashion that would take your breath away.
His stores opened in New York, London and Milan. He released fragrances and a “Ready-To-Wear” line in 2006. He was awarded a CBE award the same year he was named International Designer of the Year.
Why did Alexander commit suicide?
Alexander almost lost his mind after losing his mother, Joyce on February 2nd.  He was completely devastated. Nine days after her death he committed suicide by hanging himself.

Personally, I think it was foolish of Alexander to give up his great talent.
He won the International Designer of the Year 4 times. No one was allowed to buy his clothes. They could just wear them for a night, just to say they wore his extravagant work.
I wish Alexander would have not committed suicide, simply because no one will ever make fashion the way he did.
His clothes were so original. No one could ever come close to doing the things he did in the fashion world.
